In Massachusetts, Dr. Robert H. Goddard launches the world’s first liquid propellant rocket, laying the foundation for modern space travel, satellite communication, human spaceflights, and lunar and extraterrestrial exploration.
Well, that was nice. . .
But on a far grander note,
Beverly L. Gilbert is born, October 4th!
Indiana stands in awe! The stock markets rally! A weary nation scratches its’ head in wonder! Beverly walks among us mere mortals! Well, she will in a couple years. I mean, she was just born! But she will walk among us!
Join me in raising a virtual glass in a virtual toast to an actual woman who for 100 years has touched all our lives and made them better.
